Hello!

I was wondering two things and I hope u may answer it for me.

Why donsent NB’s have see invis? They are after all supposed to be able to
find and kill anyone. Do the old player know if this is a design decision or
Did people just forget to add this spell to the guild?

Also, some time ago NB’s had a skill called assassinate and now they don’t, do anyone know why they don’t have this skill any more?

Nightblades should have see invis in my opinion too. I can't think of a reason they don't. Fits their description perfectly.

Assassinate was removed when back stab was changed to be decently useful. A change nullified by several factors, putting it back at worthless.

Nightblades aren't about "finding" people they're more about just killing people.

In my view nightblades are all about the offense and I think see invis is more to not be ambushed than it is for killing people.

Besides, unless a nightblade is killing another nightblade the invis would (or should anyways) end on the target making it a non-issue.

But to be able to see a person is a great thing when you are trying to kill him/her. And how are anyone able to kill anyone else of they cant find the target, thats why we have transgate and other spells.

Has the helpfile been changed and updated to reflect this, because it is definitly not what it used to say. It used to emphasize, among other things, spying and infiltration I think.

The Nightblades are semi spell casters who have
trained in skills that are appropriate for covert operations.
They specialize in assassination, spying and infiltration;
and have distinct spells affecting their abilities to move
and distract. Their skills specialize in disguises, poisons,
and deadly weapons.

Type: Semi Warrior
Skills: Assassination, Poison, Stealth type skills
Spells: Illusions, Movement, Poison
Prime Attributes: Int, Dex

Examples: Picture a Ninja. Now picture a Ninja who can cast
spells. Now picture him coming after... YOU!
Comments: The nightblades are very skilled assassins and spies.
This guild is powerful in its specialized areas, and
is a force to be feared.
I think the help file says it all. As assassins they need to be able to find people, not see them. Since they can (theoretically) transport directly to any individual and attack them whether invisible or not, there is no distinct need for see invisible. In fact, with spells like continual clairvoyance available to them I'd argue that see invisible would only be useful for when a nightblade is being stalked rather than doing the stalking, which isn't part of what they're about. Of course the argument can be made that as spies they need to be able to determine when they're caught or that nearly anyone with invisibility should be able to see the invisible. Also, this quirky limitation isn't particularly detrimental to the nightblade as they have much more effective means with which to find a target than simply stumbling across them as they wander invisible through the streets of Akkad.
