I would love to see more colors added to existing crit tables. I got to thinking about this in my crit table posting and some simple colors for certain crits would make them look really cool. For instance SQUISH for the singing crit being a bold yellow color. The severing crits being in red. The head exploding for lightining and plasma being in Magenta; so on and so forth. It would add a lot of flavor to combat. More bang for the buck so to speak. It shouldn't take a lot of coding but would make things very interesting. I always remember seeing stuff like that gets my attention very quickly and causes a cool reaction.

So when is that wiz app coming? Seems like something that shouldn't take a lot of coding but would make things very interesting could be done by anyone, doesn't it?

Open call for players interested in spending some time improving Darke.

Oh god, turning combat into a rainbow would be horrible. Please, no.

Gah, there are a lot of drama queens/kings around here. Who is talking about a rainbow. I was talking about 5-6 IKs being in color like the old FATALITY crit. How could you possibly get rainbow from 5-6 maybe 5-10 IK crits? Maybe a few more if you add in severs. The colors are used every where else. They are also used in combat as we speak.

You just must have rainbow on the mind from staring at your iridescent gossamer wings all day long.

I am not sure about you, but I get quite a few severs when hunting. "So on and so forth" implies more than just "5-6 IKs".

The idea can be done. If it added to much color it would be obvious. The only downfall I see to having severs which would probably kill the entire idea of having colors for severs would be the idea of mobs with multiple limbs. Most of the time they would only have a very limited amount of limbs to sever. It would not turn the entire combat dialog in to a cross dressing rainbow fest; however, it is a valid argument not to do limb severs and cripples. On the same note there is no argument I see with equal weight of abject disgust with giving IK's color. Again, I have played muds that have had a ridiculous amount of color and that is not what I am suggesting nor would I be happy if it went that direction.

Even if a mob has no limbs left, you can still get severing crits AFAIK. And furthermore, how long do you need to kill the average mob..? Have you ever been in the canyon?
