Bugs?

Maybe we could use this to report known bugs? ;\)

I know a few off the top but here is one.

The spell 'Enlarge' doesn't seem to actually 'enlarge' people anymore. Instead it just seems to be a str boosting spell that happens to be resistable. It used to actually enlarge and allowed medium sized players to use dregan shields (for which you have to be 'large' or bigger). That no longer works.

The dance of daggers check to see if you can use it again is based off of your current skill and not the skill you had when you used it. This is normally not a problem but in some cases it has strange results. The duration is longer the higher your skill.

For example: If you use DoD and then get a spellup, you can't immediately use it after it wears like you normally can, because it is using the 'current' DoD skill to determine if you can reuse it or not. So there is a gap from when it wears to when you can use it again.

The other side is if you get a spellup and then use DoD. Then if your spellup wears off you can use DoD again before the initial one wears off, effectively having 2 on for a short period (giving in my case about +120% backstab skill).

Also I'm not sure if this one still exists, but you could cast 'fire shield' on anybody on the mud, even if they weren't in the same room as you.

Not serious bugs, but kindof annoying ;\)

I wouldn't mind working on a team to fix bugs in my spare time!

Re: Bugs?

Decrease metabolism heals you - cleric spell. And, from what I remember, doesn't slow the target.

Re: Bugs?

actually this spell works, its not a version of the old slow anymore, depending on the * it gives healing ticks that actually hurt i believe as well as slow natural healing rate, i only had *2 so didn't test it fully but there was definately a noticable effect, however unless it gets much better at *6 its not worth training. like the ticks happen more. also looked like had a chance to dehaste sometimes, like one less attack a round occasionally.

Re: Bugs?

Yeah, decrease metab used to be exactly the same as increase, but they changed it. It was only around for about 10 years before it was fixed ;\)

I think the fact that people set up locked runes with it as a haste machine probably prompted the change.

Re: Bugs?

It was probably one of those things where I bugged them to fix it 1000 times while I was a cleric, and the day I cided, they said "Hey, I should go fix that!"

Enlarge spell doesn't actually increase size.
Dance of daggers checks current skill for latent interval.
Fire shield is not same room targets only.

Re: Bugs?

It's impossible to take GMship from another player... I think I would call that a bug, even if it's just a side effect of save on ghost. Though i think save on ghost qualifies as a bug too. \:\)

Re: Bugs?

is anyone having problems with inn room descriptions? When i describe a room and finish it nothing shows up where the description should be. All that there is is Inn room #xxx and then the exits.

Re: Bugs?

what time did you do that? and what city? then I can track down if the logs show any errors on the renaming of the room.

Re: Bugs?

Also, should we have a separate forum for bugs? That way we could post individual threads about it and help track changes.
