Experience

Experience on Darkemud can be attained many different ways. The experience system is split into three different categories, Combat, Magic, and Specialized. Each guild has access to a certain mixture of the Categories. To gain experience in a category you must perform a skill or action that is based on that category, i.e.: Magic is advanced by casting spells, fighting advances Combat, and Specialized is advanced by using a special skill.

Experience is needed to gain levels, which in turn give you more hit points, magic points and allow you access to more powerful skills and spells. You can view the level table here. You gain levels for each different category of experience. So if you gain a level in combat, your magic level does not also increase. To see how much experience you have, you can type 'score' and it will be listed at the bottom

Levels(c|m|s): 1 | 1 | 1
Exps(c|m|s): 200 | 200 | 0
Devs(c|m|s): 88 | 50 | 210
Mind Status(c|m|s): clear | clear | clear

the order, combat|magic|specialized (c|m|s). Above is the style it will be written out in your score.

In the above example you will see there is a listing for levels, experience (exps), dev points (devs), and mind status.

Dev Points are attained through gaining experience. Every time you gain experience you can gain dev points. With dev points you train your spells and skills. So to advance your power, skills and spells, you must gain experience which in turn gains dev points which in turn allows you to train.

Mind Status has been removed from the game.

The experience system on Darkemud is not hard once you understand the basics.
